| | | | Wanted: flat (2.5-3) in Baden area
My wife and I are looking for a flat in Baden area.
I will start my postdoc at PSI April 1s, and I will live at temporally accommodation on PSI. My wife will join me in May, so I need a flat before that.
We would like: - flat with living room, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom
- parking place for 1 car
- necessary infrastructure for internet and TV (cable or satellite)
If there is some furniture in the flat we would be willing to buy it.
I am also searching the usual websites, but I hope that someone here would know something that is not listed there. |

| | | | Re: Wanted: flat (2.5-3) in Baden area www.homegate.ch is your best bet. There is not much outside the websites. Sometimes, your emplyoer's internal circulation might help. (ABB and Alstom have them).
There is also an independent relocation consultant in Baden area. She operates under the name of Limmat Relocations.
On the forum, if I remember right, we have Mrs Do Little,
Hope this helps

It is very hard to find a good apartment in Baden. We have been trying for 2 years. So you might want to expand your search and include places like Brugg, Lauffohr, Döttingen etc. We used to live in Brugg but we just moved to Klingnau which is 10 minutes from PSI with a direct bus.
When you get to PSI, there is a notice board in the main administration building with private advertisements for apartments and furniture for sale.
Good luck!

Good luck! | | | | | There are places in Klingnau with lovely views of the reservoir. It's a nature lover's paradise, particularly for ornithologists.
The rents in Baden are higher than in villages outside of Baden. There are good bus connections to PSI from many areas. You may even be able to cycle to work depending on where you live. Many PSI employees cycle to work.

Don't know Baden prices too well but "up to" will not get you a paid parking space included, it may not get you 3 rooms either, I fear.

Otherwise you will be stranded at the the Zürich HB. | | This user would like to thank Mrs. Doolittle for this useful post: | |

If you want a good connection to Zürich, maybe Wettingen will be a better option.
This one looks nice but you don't get a parking place included. http://www.homegate.ch/homegate/de/i...ault&a=default

We will see what can become reality. With all this feedback from you people, I am starting to get the picture. Also, I dont need two bedrooms, Im fine with one. | Quote: | | | | | If it is the nightlife in Zürich that you are looking for, you better look closely at the train schedule. Train/Nightbus leaving at 0100 and 0200
First fast train in the morning at 0606
It's not too bad! Nightlife on the late night trains is ofter better than that which you find in Zürich!

Hello there,
I just saw on the PSI bulletin board that they have furnished apartments that you can rent for 6 months or more. It's more expensive than market price but for short term, it's a good way to settle in and get started, especially if you are coming without furniture and such. PM me and I can give you the email address of the person to contact about getting one of this furnished apartment. We stayed in one of those for 6 months and it really gave us a breather in terms of learning German and getting to know the system here.

Night bus from Baden to Döttingen. Walk from Döttingen to Klingnau (duration obviously depends where you are going but you can be in the centre of Klingnau in 5 minutes,)
Only goes on Sat/Sun morning

Thank you for all the help, but there has been a sudden change of plans, so I won't be needing a place in Baden area right now, but in a few months time. Since I have learned from you that it is a rather difficult thing, I will keep my eyes on this forum, and on the agencies websites.
