Loyal, highly respected and much loved. You will be sorely missed Begga, you were always there for all of us. This is a very sad day for me. It will take a long time to get used to life without you but your memory will live on forever. <3

Re: Mourning the loss of a loyal and highly respected member

"I have passed a mountain peak and my soul is soaring in the
Firmament of complete and unbound freedom;
I am far, far away, my companions, and the clouds are
Hiding the hills from my eyes.
The valleys are becoming flooded with an ocean of silence, and the
Hands of oblivion are engulfing the roads and the houses;
The prairies and fields are disappearing behind a white specter
That looks like the spring cloud, yellow as the candlelight
And red as the twilight.

The songs of the waves and the hymns of the streams
Are scattered, and the voices of the throngs reduced to silence;
And I can hear naught but the music of Eternity
In exact harmony with the spirit's desires.
I am cloaked in full whiteness;
I am in comfort; I am in peace."
Khalil Gibran

Goodbye my friend, rest in peace.

Re: Mourning the loss of a loyal and highly respected member

I feel so very sad for the sudden departure of a lovely lady who I only had the pleasure of meeting ever so briefly but who I felt I knew like a close relative, all thanks to the EF. My heart goes out to her family as well as her Basel "family" who will be feeling a thousand times what I am.
I will raise my glass to the brightest star I see tonight and wish you well on the rest of your journey.

I've posted elsewhere that you were beautiful, funny and artistic. You took time to help others and you were always there with a kind word and a hug. You had a lot of friends but still managed not to neglect any (I wondered how you managed to fit everything in). You are loved by an awful lot of people because you are so easy to love. We will miss you. Sleep well my Viking friend.

Re: Mourning the loss of a loyal and highly respected member

I think Begga was at every EF social event over the last few years and would always have some story to tell. Her mischievous attitude, ability to drink most of us under the table as she'd be dancing on the table and her energy, optimism and consideration will be missed.

Thoughts go to her family, the many people on EF who came to know her and those involved in the accident who will also be grieving.

We never know the minute.

I never met Begga but got the impression of a fun, happy kindly person and loved reading her posts.
I feel so shocked to read she is no longer with us and can only imagine the sorrow of her family.
My sympathy goes to them and all her wonderful friends on the forum who will never forget her...

I'm very sorry to hear the news and my condolences go out to her entire family and closest friends. I have never met Begga personally but I used to follow her messages on the EF and we were friends on the FB as well. I enjoyed her photography albums and regular updates about Teckla. She was fine lady with fantastic sense of humour and great heart. I'm deeply shocked and cannot find words to describe how I feel. RIP

I am so sad to hear this - although I never met Begga, she seemed like such a vibrant person.
Her posts (like this one: One thousand posts later…) had such positive energy about them, it is hard to believe that her life has stopped so abruptly.
My thoughts go to all of those who cared about her.

Re: Mourning the loss of a loyal and highly respected member

I remember at the last kfc event she said she was keen to meet me (not sure why) but then some strange turn of events with cars didn't allow it.

We used to chat a bit on facebook and I felt I knew her well through that and she will be missed greatly.

It really is a horrible thing to have happened.

Re: Mourning the loss of a loyal and highly respected member

It was just a couple of weeks ago that we were wandering around Zürich Zoo together, both of us using exactly the same camera and lens. I'm truly shocked at this news.

I've posted elsewhere that she approached life with a wonder and enthusiasm that could only be matched by a child, and it's true. Her "get up and go" was inspirational, and she could light an entire room up with just a smile.

My deepest sympathies go out to her entire family and friends.

God bless you, Begga. It was an honour and a privilege to know you. You'll be sorely missed.

So so sad. Only met her a few times at social events and she definitely came across as a friendly funloving person. Way too early to go...
