Occasional special offers emailed to all EF members

This is a heads up that a special offer will shortly be emailed to all EF members.

To choose whether you receive such emails remember to check your settings page.

Adjusting your settings now probably won't affect today's mailing, but it will for future mailings.

Re: Occasional special offers emailed to all EF members

What sort of offers? Would be good to know some details before we opt in or out.

I think this time it will be related to air travel.

Yes Bob, but then we also have to enter information like our dob. I could easily put in something that says I'm 21 (again), but frankly it p!sses me off that I have to do this at all.

Just had the message of invalid birthday. Why does the local need to know what year I was born?

Hmmm, the birthday thing isn't something that we've set up.

I think it's default requirements from the vBulletin software.

Am looking to switch it off now.

It told me my birthday was invalid - I really am 111 years old, you know...

I appreciate that Bob, but for the record, it is new (the requirement to add info, that is). It was optional when I joined, and has only recently been added as a required field - maybe when that additional question about Switzerland was added to avoid spamming?

No need to get all hostile about it.

The birthday requirement is now switched off.

I genuinely don't know how it crept in if it wasn't there before.

It also looks as though, once you have entered it, there is no option to change it. Is that something that we will be able to do too?

Wow, if this is what you call hostility I suggest you quietly log of and don't check any of the other threads on here!

And take it from me. My DoB fields are all blank. I've been here through all time.

Haha. I was trying to be helpful and provide some background... and you'll note I thanked your comment that you were going to address it, as in "thank you, I appreciate the effort you are making".

Ho-hum.

Re: Occasional special offers emailed to all EF members

Couldn't find the advert filter setting.

I don't require any Viagra or Cialis for the record, nor any dandruff shampoo, walking aids, colostomy bags, spectacles, hearing aids or seeing eye dogs.

Airline discount stuff, restaurants, wellness weekends and Alpine days - bring them on...

I'm am interested in financial transactions involving the widows of decased African dicators.

I also like dodgy websites where I can enter the passwords to my bank accounts so they can check that my accounts are OK.

Anything else I don't want.

You use knock out drops as shampoo - that'll explain your hair colour then
