SURVEY For what do you use English Forum?

I think it would be really great if all members, including those who lurk in the shadows, could take the 27.5 seconds needed and participate in this poll.

If you don't , you'll be banned AND condemned to burn in eternal damnation! (JUST KIDDING!!!! You won't really be banned. )

You can choose more than one answer, and comment if you wish.

Re: SURVEY For what do you use English Forum?

These posts and frivilous and serious impacting the signal to noise ratio of the group from its usual 36dBa level. Therefore I am shifting the these posts into the new "Limbo" sub-sub-category.... oh ! sorry I got it wrong - you guys are the moderators and we are the ones that get a damn good moderating now and again...got a bit confused there..

I know - it's a pretty poor example isn't it. At least litespeed did kind of make it light-hearted in the end, and we did manage to pioneer the use of some previously never seen before similies. You can blame HeatherM, we are all sitting around waiting to start work on the restructuring, but don't know what her suggestions for changes will be...

Re: SURVEY For what do you use English Forum?

my ticking them all is my honest opinion; I actually was going to not check the first one but then realised with all the others checked, this surely must be implied.
  • As a important ex-pat resource
Absolutely. Even though some FMs don't like the efforts, particularly from Mark, to keep threads on or close to topic
  • A place for general chat and humour
An Englishman, and Irishman and a Scotsman....
  • to share my experiences
I'd like to think that after nearly 12 years, I have something to offer...
  • to lurk around and say nothing
Only sometimes mind. I might have actually lied with this one.
  • To meet new people and partake in social events
Diem - shhhhhhh. I will make it, I will, I will.
  • at work to avoid...well...doing work.
Possibly #1!
  • to antagonise mark and the mod squad.
You lot don't know how many times I've replied to threads and then sudddenly it's dawned on me that the person could've posted in another thread. This usually comes via email
  • to help others who are new
As long as they're polite and can almost spell
  • to complain about everything and anything Swiss
Not quite but some things really irk me. Dirk? Dirka? Jihad! But of course I'd not be here if it wasn't "some good".
  • other reason (please explain in thread).
Erm.......because I like the people. Or the personas. Even those dearly departed

Re: SURVEY For what do you use English Forum?

important expat resource - absolutely.
humour - yes - especially the unintentional stuff

social life and meeting people - yes, but as I'm leaving Switzerland in the next couple of months this hasn't been as much of a priority as I had expected when I first signed up.

Annoying mods and Mark - this can be an unfortunate side-effect of my posting.

So do you mean that the mods are annoying, but Mark is not? Or that both the mods and Mark are annoying? Or that you enjoy annoying us?
