Forum glitches

Currently two bugs affect the usability of the forum:
  • Custom avatars can't be uploaded.
  • The file attachment feature is broken. For the time being, please use an external alternative like imageshack.us and link your images according to these service's instructions.
Our admins work on a solution but it may take a while until everything is ironed out. Thank you for your understanding.

Edit: The problems have been fixed!

Re: Forum glitches

I don't know if this is solved yet, but it sounds to me like a directory permissions issue.

Try setting global write permissions on the relevant folders.

The Unix command would be something like this:

chmod -R 0777 ~englishforum.ch/customavatars

Hmmm. First post and it's a suggestion to set world read/write/execute on an ef directory.

Nice.

Don't do it - vB set the permissions to the correct ones during the install. I just checked mine and they ain't 777

Correct, I manged to upload pdf's too. I could also upload image if you drag and drop it to URL but it immediately looses its link and picture becomes empty which is displayed in form of red X.
