Tomorrow evening the forum area "Really Off Topic" which has been created in late November and been accessible for two dozen users will be closed.

Its content won't be made public; not because of elitist attitudes but simply in respect of the privacy of users who posted personal matters which aren't meant for the eyes of the whole community.

ROT won't be replaced by a successor forum area. Most of its posts from now on would belong to the General Off Topic area, where you'll likely encounter them in one form or another.

EF from now on is one community with one off topic area. I am confident that all users welcome and accept this step. People who take offense at a possible increase in light-hearted postings are encouraged to make use of the ignore thread function and to show some tolerance. The amount of ad hominem EF experienced before the creation of ROT and that creeped back in one thread yesterday is not tolerable and will be moderated accordingly.
