Your location and your date

Oldbies know the value of putting your location down in thread titles for events, marketplace, etc., but sometimes even we forget

When you're posting an event, selling or giving something away (or looking for an item), warning us about a traffic nightmare or slippery steps at a train station, remember to put the location of the event/item/warning in your thread title.

A table for sale in Zurich probably won't interest someone in Lugano very much, as would a drinks event in Basel probably not generate much interest in Lausanne.

Another thing to keep in mind is that there's always a tomorrow, yesterday, next Monday coming soon. If you're talking about something specific with time, make sure you put when that is. Asking if a video of my cat stealing my socks is going to be on BBC 1 today won't help if I look at the post next week. After all, it is always today.

When you're posting an event, always make sure the date and location are in the thread title. Drinks get together doesn't tell us much. Drinks get together 20 Feb 2010 in Winterthur tells us a lot, and doesn't waste someone in Vaud's time in looking at the thread.

Good thread titles with informational info will help keep your moderators happy, fellow forum members informed and a better forum will result.

Re: Your location and your date

How disappointing evilshell.
Here I was thinking I'd get some awesome dating advice and date-location recommendations. Maybe you should rethink you title name!

You're making sub-editors out of all of us, Evilshell.

(By the way, should it ring in my head as Evil's Hell or Evil Shell? Or Evil as Hell?)

Heh, well, that's my background, really

It is intended as Evil Shell, but Evil's Hell would also be appropriate!
