Apple! A race for our souls!

A couple of weeks back, I bought a wireless router, which worked fine for the first week, but inexplicably went on the blink after. This was followed immediately by another week of rebooting, resetting, restarting and invariably regret, the 4 stages of uninformed electronics purchases.

I decided to bring it back to the shop where I got it.

Enter turkish-swiss manager, face like f****** thunder (FLFT), obviously he was having a bad day. I explained my situation...

ME: yeah, and I should mention, I got a macbook at home.

FLFT: *snorts* ok, Theo can you help this gentleman here. *goes to another customer*

Enter Theo, soft-spoken vietnamese swiss, non-plussed by manager's face of thunder.

Theo: OK, we'll let you have a 1-to-1 exchange.

ME: You think I could get something else? I read on the interwebs that this model isn't compatible with Macbooks.

Theo: Yeah you could, this Netgear one is pretty good, you just need to pay the difference.

ME: You think I should get an Airport instead? should work better between both Apple products.

Theo: Well, this Netgear one is compatible with Apple as well *points to apple icon on box*

ME: hmm... f*** it, I'll just get this Netgear one, for all I know my next laptop might not be a Mac.

Theo the Softspoken grins an awkward grin, the awkwardness would soon be clear, as FLFT looks away from his customer, surprised, almost anxious!

FLFT: What did he say, something something Mac?!

Theo: He said, for all his knows, his next laptop might not be a Mac.

dark clouds lift from FLFT, enter Sunshine and Clear Skies (S&CS)! Did i mention S&CS is a bit of a tubby?

S&CS: *laughs loudly, jiggly all over, almost teating* in your face, Theo!

Theo the Softspoken smiles, beatifically. S&CS extends his hand over the shelf, smiling. I shake his hand.

S&CS: You promise??

ME: yeah, probably maybe. *I give him a broad grin*

S&CS: I'm glad you said it to Theo, cos he's major Apple fan.

Theo: You sure made his day, he's not too keen on Mac's.

ME: The race for our souls continues! never give in, never give up! *clench fists*

S&CS: *more laughter* alrite, give this man whatever he needs.

ME: heh thanks, you have fun too!

Random conversations like these are like picking the booby prize and finding something interesting inside. In this case, 3 complete strangers sharing a candid moment together. Funnily enough, we were all not exactly swiss either!
