We have a business registered in Zurich; we'll be leaving soon but would like to keep the business open for a while.

Can anyone recommend a mailing address company we can use to handle letters and correspondence?

And is it that simple or do we have change the status of the company or something like that? It's just a simple einzelfirma and nothing exotic.

Hi, can't help for the mailing address company, but I am sure that for what it concern how you leave your business, you don't have do change any status of it ... of course taxes are compulsory and you must contact the taxation office to clear your position with them.

If you're leaving and the registered address was where you lived, then IIRC you'll need to move the registered office to another valid address, not just a PO box or equivalent. Virtually any Treuhand will offer this service.

With this type of structure, which is essentially self employment, when you deregister from Switzerland your business goes too.

unless you leave without deregistering that is away for a while only for example 5 months or so.
