I am semi-resident in Appenzell for the past 13 years because I have a Swiss husband. We own a home in Appenzell and am looking into possibly living in Appenzell in the near future. I am a cert. massage therapist in California experienced in manual lymphatic drainage, craniosacral therapy, spa massage, holistic massage, hand/foot reflexology, stone massage therapy, aromatherapy, sports massage, pregnancy/infant massage.

My question is: What does it take to work in a spa here or start a private massage practice? What kind of credentials do I need here in Switzerland and in Appenzell?

I'm not a Swiss citizen yet and am don't speak Deutsch.

In California, I have my own private practice and have also worked in an exclusive spa. I will eventually be working with plastic surgeons who need manual lymphatic drainage therapists.

Reflexology huh ? What part would you massage to treat a sore foot ?

Welcome to the forum, I was a "model" for a friend who was learning reflexology massage. No matter what I had in agenda I would cancell to be free for her classes
I've heard Apenzell is a bit close minded about "Auslanders" I hope who told me is wrong.
Since you have so much experience Im sure you will find something very soon and dont worry about the language, let your hands do the talk!
