It is a paradox. The more knowledge , skills, degrees and experience you have the more you suffer in times of economic turmoil..You are seen as...too costly...or too old. Yet this is the time when you should be needed the most! This mode of thinking by the companies is alone an indicator why the business world runs into crisis. The thinking is somewhere along the line lost or mixed up.We need protect and rely on wisdom. What is seen as costly or old... actually can save money, time and pain...

As you may have guessed , I am also a victim of the times but for differnt reasons. I have found myslef in CH due to a health problem of my wife and have had a difficult time finding employment or even understanding the complex and conservative minds of the swiss so to start a business.I have of course met many others like me here. So lets join forces and put forward ideas and proposals that we might be able to drive forward.
We have many things going fo us. Beside our world knowledge,we have the motivating weather that forces us to work more and of course the lack of local partying and social life. I say this, since if you are not a mountain lover or ski fanatic, social life here is quite limited compare to other cities.

I have not been long enough here to really understand the local needs and way of thinking, but i sense one thing. It is different, it is conservative and it needs trust . So all you executives and entrepreneurs that have more knowledge of the local scene ,please put forward your ideas and views.

Not a Ski fanatic or mountain lover? That seems like a quite a limited scope. You didn't just get off the plane did you? Honestly Switzerland/Winterthur/BFE little Dorf isn't alot different then any other country. The experience you get out of it is what you make of it; put into it.
I have never skied once, and climbing mountains I only do in my car, but I have had a a great time. And that's without knowing anyone before I arrived here.

I've had similar thoughts, but my ideas and proposals are confidential and proprietary trade secrets.

I think quite a few have similar thoughts. My intention is not to steal ideas from others : Since new to the country , thought that others in similar position would know better the local conditions and can share ideas as to what works and what doesn't. Beside a idea is only good for the bearer who is passionate about it..

Hence interested in exchanging thoughts with people in similar situations since each has some background and maybe for the interaction and by each bringing a different value to the table, maybe something unique might come up.

Simple old fashioned cold calling did the job for me.

Find a USP and go for it....
