I can provide you with free consulting on how to make the company successful. I just want to be paid when you sell it. Or alternatively I volunteer for the position as President of Board of Directors and get paid for all the long meetings in nice hotels, with nice food and secretaries.

actually. this is not a bad idea. not sure if the swiss market is big enough, or swiss people price sensitive enough to change providers but there are enough fat profits to carve out a virtual network operator.

obviously we should all write apps based on bullsh-t ideas because the big boys with cash can't tell what will work and what is bound to fail...

The Swiss market is approx. 50% bigger than the Danish (based on population). Let me remind you, that all it took was a data base with 175.000 customers and a turnover at 4-5 mill. CHF to close a deal that gave the founders (which will be us in this case) a lot of money.....A LOT.

The primary customer is (of course) the young generation who is less faithfull to the operators, than oldies like me.

swiss population = 7.7 mln
danish population = 5.5 mln
looks like you need to hire someone for analysis as well

you would still need a fair bit of money behind you, to buy and print the sim cards, get retailers on board, advertising and paying for the airtime, if you can find a mobile network willing to allow another mvno on there network

1. iFreeBeer
The first product will be for free to create an impressing user base. It is essentially a social network for beer consumption. The more of your contacts consume in a participating pub, the lower will be your price per beer. Um...it's not that they had a database of 175000 people...it's that they had 175000 clients. Clients who forked over cash for a product because they believed it was the best product in the marketplace. Not really the same thing.

I think the problem with the IT crowd is that they believe in "if you build it they will come". That is: the best product wins. Nope. McDonalds doesn't have the best burger, the cheapest burger, or the best value burger. Nor do they have a totally unique product offering. They also didn't invent the burger. However they're the most successful at what they do. Why?
