However.....I want to start a mobile company, run it for 4-8 years with great succes and then sell it to Swisscom, Sunrise or whoever wants to shift over a truck load of money.

ie: minimal up front capital, but lots of brainwork.

I definitely think making an app that is useful to a lot of people and selling it very cheaply is a great idea. That or make freeware and wait to get bought out.

Some 8-10 years ago a guy in Denmark started a phone company (Telmore). He bought net access, minutes and data from the biggest phone company in DK (TDC) and created an easy to use online User Interface.

After some years of "Full Speed Ahead" expansion he sold his company to...voila...TDC and cashed in a sh!t load of money. After a few years of thinking....well...he probably signed a "stay away from phone business agreement", he did it all again. Started another phone company (Bibob) and now this company is expanding (read: taking customers from the others) and beat me if this company isn't up for sale within a few years as well.

Today I just read that another phone company (Onfone) has been bought by TDC for approx. 60 mill. CHF. They have only 175.000 customers and had a turnover of as little as 4-5 mill. CHF last year.

Onfone was/is operating in the same way as Telmore and Bibob (and several others on the DK market) by buying network access, minutes and data from the big companies.

So...what are we waiting for?.....let move folks.

and on the flip side you have someone like redbull mobile who invested shit loads of money in marketing etc on there virtual network here, and it flopped big time.

You have no chance in telecom in Switzerland.

Swiss telecom rates are extremely low and have superb customer service. I cannot imagine that anyone would like to switch....

I could do webcontent and user assistance/training.

Quick question: How are we going to discuss potential ideas amongst ourselves without broadcasting our ideas to potential competition?
