After 10 years of being in the enigneering industry working primarily with advanced surveying equipment, 3D computer modelling and graphics software, I have decided to try sourcing some additional part time freelance work. I will focus on 2D and 3D CAD modelling for graphical, engineering and architectural applications that do not fit within my current employer's business plan. The company that I work for charges my time at over CHF 100.- /hr. However, this rate includes their high overhead costs and management fees as is for very specialist work.

I was wondering if anyone on here had commisioned any CAD or graphics work recently from a small company or freelancer? If so, I would be grateful if you could give me a feel for how much they charged.

I guess price may vary... My company pays about CHF 1,300 - 1,500 for each 3D rendering image.

Hi All,
I am also interested if someone could give a rough hourly rate for outsource CAD drawing (i.e. reinforcement or formwork plan) in Switzerland, especially if someone has "first hand" experience.
Is 45 francs per hour realistic?
