Claim business expenses for items bought before business set up?

Dear all,
Apologies for this naive question, but would you know if I can put computer equipment bought just before setting up my swiss company on my business expenses list?

What do you mean by " my swiss company", sole trader, gmbh, ag?

I am in the process of setting my business up. I think sole trader is the way to go. Yes, absolutely in the same financial year. Thanks, Andy

sole trader in same financial year should be OK then.

It is never exactly clear when a sole trader starts
Is it first purchase or first sale or ......

If you include it as inventory and put a value on it then it should be possible

What about if it is to purchase flights to attend a seminar at the end of the year (company not currently set up but will be by then)
