LLC and GmbH the same?

I have a consulting business in the States and operate as an LLC. Is the Swiss equivalent of an LLC a GmbH? What about the equivalent terminology for a sole-proprietorship?

LLC is GmbH (German) and Sàrl (French).

I think that "sole-proprietorship" is "Entreprise Indivduelle" in the French Cantons. Not sure about German.

In German it is "die Einzelfirma".

Yes LLC - if I understand correctly stands for Limited liability company which is exactly what a GmbH is. I've got one. not to be confused with Einzelfirma as others suggest - that's a 'sole trading' company.
