Does anyone know about the laws pertaining to owning and operating ATM machines in Switzerland? Primarily Schwyz canton? Or any good links on purchasing a new or used one?
All info would be useful.

Instead of fixing up the spy camera and the fake keyboard, he has figured it's much easier to install his own ATM.

I remember those awful 3rd party stand-alone ATM's you get in Pubs and other areas in the UK... The ones that charge you £1.75-£2.50 to make a withdrawal.

I haven't seen any 3rd party ATM's here. It's probably a fiercely legislated/protected market due to privacy and profit concerns.

We have a very suitable site in Geneva for one of those machines ... its in between the Rive Gauche and the Rive Droite.

Yeah I know some swiss bankers, like everyone else, but I thought it might be easier to ask here first. I have seen them before, actually, I just don't remember where or any contact info of course.

I think any ATM is useful when the closest one in walking distance, in the evening hours is about 30 minutes away. I have talked to dozens of people about the need for access to an ATM at this location. Not on my own accord, but people requesting one. I get atleast 5 requests per day, for the last year and a half. It's worth looking into.

ATMs in Switzerland are all owned by companies with a banking license. The requirements for a banking license are quite strict and extensive. Are 3rd party ATMs permitted? I don't think so.

Ask NCR in Glattzentrum / Wallisellen.

i would suspect that there are very few places in CH with sufficient footfall to make such a machine worthwhile, which doesn't already have one.

I don't know any Swiss person with less than 200chf in their wallet/purse at any one time.

The lack of "cash in wallet" problem must be a poor starving ex-pat problem.

Add to that, in the majority of residential areas (outside of Glarus) - EC cards are excepted pretty much universally.
