The start of a Business.......Just Samosas

Hi all,
I am so happy to announce that finally, and yes finally, I have decided to start Just Samosas!!!
Last week I received the go ahead from the Food Control authorities, and the gemeinde has replied positively.
Yesterday, I ordered 1000 flyers, for a start...........I must admit, it took a bit of courage to place that order.
So today I will advertise in the Commercial section. This is my first attempt of running a business, and I have been thinking about it for a long, long time. It take quite a bit of courage, though.

The website is missing one page, but that will be corrected hopefully by monday.....any input about the website, would be appreciated as well.

Well, I sincerely beseech those with far more experience to be so kind and share any tips, and advice, and pearls of wisdom!

Thanks!

I think you should make the actual products more visible - currently you need two clicks from the homepage (Rates and delivery > Menu and Rates) to see what kind of samosas you are selling. Maybe move the Menu link up one level so that it's directly visible on the homepage ?

Good luck with this - I admire anyone who has both the business idea and the courage to put it into practice !

Thanks!, I made the change.

My friend is completing an Ordering page, I am waiting 2weeks now, and so I decided to launch it anyway.

If you could invent a gluten-free samosa with diabetic information (carbohydrate per piece) I'd be interested

I'd buy these, but they look a bit small for the price and I think you need to show photos of the contents inside to see what you are getting.

First, good luck!

I'm curious if there's any customization available? e.g. I have an onion intolerance. Can I order the traditional samosas without onions?

Re: The start of a Business.......Just Samosas

Looks great, but very expensive, and the size is not clear from the photos (are they bite-size, or the size of a fist?). For me to order 12 beef and pea Samosas would cost me over 38 Francs! That's too expensive.

Also that I can't order 6 of one type and 6 of another is also not attractive.
Also, no dipping sauce?

A discount for 2 dozen, 3 dozen, etc. would also be good (encourages people to bulk order).

Yes you can, just inform me of any specifics when you order

If you want extra spicy just mention it in the order.
The Samosas are 7cm from the middle to the toptip.....if that makes any sense.

You only deliver within a 20km radius of Hinwil?

Website certainly looks nice and not tacky at all though. Good luck

Hi Karl,
I carefully considered the pricing of the samosas,
- as far as possible ingredients are Swiss - that is the onions, potatoes, coriander, chives, and the Beef, and further the Beef mince is 100% Beef and not the mixed variety.
- the making of samosas is a very long intricate business, here is a link so that you have an idea -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUA4g874WUs&feature=relmfu
- In a resturant you pay up to Sfr5 for a Vegetarian samosa, granted that is already fried and served with a dollop of sauce, which should cost about 50rappen more..........

- I can promise you that these samosas are worth every franc!

About the dipping sauce, well, lets see if I can crawl before I will try to fly!, but thank you its worth looking into!

BESIDES THERE IS A 10% DISCOUNT FOR ENGLISH FORUM MEMBERS WITH MEMBER STATUS, WHICH YOU QUALIFY FOR!

The price is no more than I'd expect to pay in Switzerland.

They are expensive but not shockingly so.

Re: The start of a Business.......Just Samosas

Hmm....samosas, I wonder when I ate them last.
Just few comments,
1. Namaste has been a more established spelling....
2. The site header is eating too much space, can reduce it a bit
3. Add a facebook plugin, will help grow the word of mouth.
4. Do increase the snacks available as well...just samosas wont do for repeat business.

Regarding the price - I would say that they are very competitively priced - before I looked at your website, I thought they would be more.

Just one point:

If you decide to expand into other products, Idlis for example, won't the business name be a bit limiting?

Anyway, good luck with it all. I hope it's a success!

They tend to range from 4-50 to 8CHF each in stalls and fast food places, the supermarket ones are crap...The price seems cheap, unless they are bite size tiny ones.

Sound quite limiting, I know, but I dont think that I would like to expand into other delicacies. Samosas are time consuming itself.
We will see, I can always have another site with a link to this one.
