In a nutshell, Please, Give me your best small business ideas and projects?

Hi there,

Precisely and concisely, If you have around 15000 Euros (20000 USD), What would be your best small business ideas to invest this amount in? Or what a small project would you suggest?

Thankfully, I don’t have any debt, car loans nor mortgages.

I know that it is a very small amount of capital to start a business, But can I start anything beneficial with them?

Let's avoid and exclude the suggestions of stock exchange and the interests of the banks. So, What other options do you have in mind?

I would greatly appreciate your valuable thoughts and I am looking forward to hearing from you !

I would usually give it to a forum newbie, spamming various forums. Can I have your bank details?

With that amount, depending on the complexity and the ideas, you should be able to get a few mobile apps created and do a little bit of marketing, if one goes viral your laughing....

The higher the risk the better the potential gain, if you concentrate on E (or M) commerce you are very likely to find a buyer with marketing clout if it's well thought out and well built.

Good luck what-ever you do !

Where do I send the invoice for my consulting fees? As soon as you take care of the invoice, I'll be happy to help you with your query.

Ideas are valuable, my companies motto is 'An idea is only an idea, a product is an idea given life'.

So many get wasted because they are not followed through !

Welcome to the Forum.

If you want sensible answers, you might have to ask more 'realistic' questions. Slightly more 'honest' information in your profile and an introduction might encourage members to take you seriously and slightly more in the way of funds at your disposal might help too.

Re: In a nutshell, Please, Give me your best small business ideas and projects?

My current idea is to develop religious headgear with build-in entertainment electronics.

Here is the case: I live in a multi-ethnic city, Singapore, and see daily young Muslimas wearing headphones over their headscarves. They seem to all use the old fashioned "80s walkman style" ones as the modern in-ear headphones are probably difficult to get in and out of your ear if you have a scarf on top. I guess nobody asked them when designing the headsets that come with all modern smartphones...

I don't have a prototype yet, but flat speakers are nothing new and I have seen some being made of bendable plastic:

So I guess it should be possible to design a head scarf with a cinch adaptor to plug into your mp3 player.

And that would of course only be the start of my product line. I could fit an entire speaker system plus ipod dock into an average Turban or a ten inch woofer into one of those shtreimel hats you see in Wiedikon.

You could combine the best of Swiss and British traditions to develop a truly multi cultural product that everyone will want to buy...

I would start building e-bike motor controllers. Due to hobby I know quite
a lot about them. Most of them are totally utterly worthless cr@p, some
of them are reasonably good but none of them use my home-developed
more power efficient algorithm. There are motors out there that are very
difficult to control, I would use the 15000 to build a controller that can.

I have an unbelievably excellent opportunity based on a fantastic idea of my own. Of course, I can't tell you in an open forum because it's so fantastic that it's super super secret.

But if you publicly commit to investing in my venture I will be able to disclose to you what the idea is, right after the payment into my account clears. By coincidence, $20k is exactly the amount I had been thinking of. Isn't that lucky!!

I found an investor for you, his name is Igor from Moscow. I hope you're sure of your idea 'cause Igor is kinda temperamental and may break all your limbs if he gets 'upset'

Dude

Why do you think if they had a super idea then people here would tell you for a nice thank you. Also 15K is not a barrier that would lead to some one giving it up as he or she lacks capital. If you would have said I have 1 million to spare then you would better chance as someone with great idea might want to part for a sheer lack of capital.

You will see more than 90% of the ideas are fun ideas so may be it was intended to be a fun post.

Re: In a nutshell, Please, Give me your best small business ideas and projects?

This is not a money-making idea, but you said project also, so...just a suggestion. You should ascertain whether something like this would be feasible/legal to do, but if it is, definitely worth investigating IMO.

Of the CHF 15,000, I would take 14,000, buy lots of groceries, household items, toiletries, toys, school supplies, and also food for our animal friends, etc., then I would "hire" volunteers to help me pack hundreds of care packages into reusable grocery bags, hire cars for a few hours and deliver the packages to people who might need/appreciate them. One might find out who the potential recipients might be and if they would appreciate something like this by contacting in advance the city of Zurich, Basel, whatever, hospitals, nursing homes, dog/cat rescue centers, etc. After driving around all day, I would give all the volunteers a symbolic gift for their time and commitment to this project. Repeat several times until money runs out.

In the evening of the last day, with the remaining CHF 1000, I would go sit at the Kronenhalle restaurant in Zurich with my OH and eat and drink so much until neither of us can stand on our own two legs anymore.

I don't think the OP lives in Switzerland, 15K is what the average person here has in his/her wallet

Re: In a nutshell, Please, Give me your best small business ideas and projects?

Many areas in CH are starting a weighing system for refuse at the moment. One of the great problems for families is the weight of (wet/soiled) disposable nappies- for which no exception will be made. Perfect time to start a business selling, then collecting, washing and re-distributing modern, good quality shaped cloth nappies (used with a liner for solids). We had 2 such services in the town where I lived in the UK - brilliant- and great for the environment too. So a second-hand van, rented premises and an industrial washing-machine - could be just about done.

I'd do it myself if I wasn't retired or lived in a remote area. Disposable nappies were an easy option for a long time- but now disposing of them is going to be really expensive, and people are becoming more aware of the chemical impact of cellulose paper products.
Don't forget to buy me a drink when you've made your fortune, hey.
