Wholesale - does it exist here?

Can anyone give any hints on wholesale purchasing here?

The nearest there seems to be to the idea of "wholesale" purchasing in CH is Prodega or TopCC. However they appear to be just for bulk buying and not bulk discounts. We can buy products in co-op for the same price or less than in these places. ...this does sit comfortable with my business head.

Hoping to be corrected on this one..

I read the usage page of the Prodega and Growa and it seemed they were strong on it's for restaurants and re-sellers of foods. Somebody please correct me if I read it wrong. (http://www.prodega.ch/DE/kundenkarte...ndenkarte.aspx)

Local manufacturers and importers usually do not compete on price basis. Small businnes is supplied by Coop, Migros, Leader Price, etc or cash and carry like Aligro. Wholesale market similar to this one in the UK does not exsist. Maybe you can ask discounters like Lidl, Aldi if they supply small business.

Re: Wholesale - does it exist here?

Of course there are wholesales here for all sorts of specialist products. I wholesale food products from the UK and there are many more like me. Top CC are a Cash and Carry, a wholesaler of general produce related to restaurants and catering. We have a trade card with them and buy a certain amount from them but for some products we find Aldi (veg) and Denner (wine and spirits) cheaper.

Just google the product types (in one of the relevant national languages) and you will find some of these specialist whilesalers.
