Hello - I would like to look at starting a business of making a certain product for mothers and babies - my question is - if I make and sell a few items to test the market do I have to register as a sole prop or can I test the market and if proves to be a success I register as a sole prop? Also can I put a handmade personalised label on it if I have not officially registered as a sole prop? Can I advertise it on places like Ricardo, Etsy etc without registering as sole prop?

I just dont want to spend 500CHF to register as a sole prop without first testing the market to see if a viable business opportunity.

My advice would be to just start selling on portals like eBay and Ricardo and see how it goes. If there is good interest, you can look into further options.
