Greeting postcards for a lazy guy like me

thinking about Christmas cards or actually any greeting cards...

There are companies on Swiss market that do Output Management: they take your structured document data, print the documents and individual addresses, and send them to all your recipients. Cool, but works for documents only.

There are printing companies that print nice quality postcards and send the whole lot to the one who orders. Cool, but then I need to write a hundred of addresses, which takes time and efforts.

any information of a company that could combine that? Good quality colour printing of postcards on paper of good quality and density and individual addresses on the back side, and sending them directly to recipients?

Any idea of how much it would cost for, say, 200 postcards?

greetings
s.

Re: Greeting postcards for a lazy guy like me

SwissPostCard will send a personalised (photo upload possible) card world wide with priority mail for 2.90 Fr (15cm*10cm) or 3.90 (21cm*15cm).

There is also an assistant called MailingCreator which allows you to upload addresses in .txt, .xls, .csv and Outlook format and manually. The price for 200 cards would be 1.70 Fr./card with economy mail or 1.90 Fr./card priority, no matter if the cards are A5 or A6 formatted.

The entire service is available in English. I tested it in its early days and found the cards a bit thin. The image resolution was downscaled before printing, other than that it was okay. Maybe the quality has improved or you find it sufficient anyway - At 4 Fr. you can give it a shot I think.

If you do so, please tell me how you like it!

Re: Greeting postcards for a lazy guy like me

doesn't look like a professional printing
No information about the paper choice, printing resolution, required color profile...
I'll give it a try, but this looks quite cheap, not very impressive to the customers

thanks

what would be impressive is your heartfelt personal handwritten greeting and signature

otherwise it would go in the recycling with the other circulars (if it was sent to me)

Re: Greeting postcards for a lazy guy like me

I signed thousands of postcards at my previous job, and that was silliest thing I've ever done

my idea is to create a picture that is artistic enough to be preserved and not thrown away. I believe that's a far better way to be remembered

Quality, price, convenience - pick two.

And I know a few persons that could indeed impress me with a machine written greeting, they are normally lazy or far away though.

Re: Greeting postcards for a lazy guy like me

Decided this year is the last year I'm sending Christmas cards. Feel like doing my bit to reduce my carbon footprint seeing as most of my cards will be sent to the UK (airmail).

Trying to decide if sending e-cards is more environmentally friendly...

haha, looking at your avatar, first thing that comes to my mind, "Bouquet, lady of the house speaking"

what about finding a printer company in the UK to order them to print and send the postcards locally?

well, anyway, your carbon footprint is nothing, the post airplane will fly anyway, with or without your greeting cards

Try bulk mailing companies with your own mailing list, assuming that you have 1000+ friends.

Tree hugger. Get them sent and stop navel gazing. No one will care about your reasons for stopping, other than you are now too lazy to send cards....

Damn, I've been sussed...

Actually, I've bought and written this year's already but, like I said, I think this will be the last year. Although, there are charity ones... Ooh, the dilemma...
