Re: door to door sell

I have never had anyone come to my door trying to sell anything in the ten years I have been in CH.
Telephone selling is another story - people seem to ring my home on almost a daily basis - I wish this was illegal

Re: door to door sell

There were people from Cablecom trying this last year (?) when they were doing a big promo push. They came to my building and rang every apartment trying to get in.

Once had some Jehovah's Witnesses from the States trying to push The Watchtower in my face while speaking horrible German. Boy were they shocked when I told them (in my crudest American English) where they could put their magazine.
Other than that and one or two charity drives I've never really been bothered by any kind of door-to-door sales people in my 20+ years here. Remember most people live in apartment buildings and it's not easy to get into the main door to the stairway.

If you do not wish to receive advertising mail or phone calls, you may opt to have an advertising ban placed on your listing (marked by an asterisk). Just ask Swisscom for more information.

Re: door to door sell

My door attracts opposites, too – Telecomunication companies and charities During my childhood I remember also at least one gypsie who asked if we have scissors and knifes to sharp.

Door to door sells are legal and there apparently are a couple companies who successfully sell goods and not just contracts to regular customers, although I haven't encountered them in my door frame.

But there are special laws to protect the customers from these salesmen. A customer can void a contract he signed in seven days.

Re: door to door sales

My home is my sanctuary of peace and tranquility, if I want to buy something I go to the shop. I do not want the shop to come to me...

I hope there are laws against door to door peddling, to be quite frank I get the urge to when people try to push their wares/religion onto me whilst in my sanctuary.

Before deciding on a door-to-door career ask yourself the question: "How many people are genuinely happy to have me appear on their doorstep?" The answer is obvious: none.

Yep, we had one. Our local farmer, selling potatoes and apples :-)

We bought some - yum, fresh.

Re: door to door sales

All sales people decidedly unwelcome at my door or phone. When I'm finished with them, they never call again. Please don't even suggest the idea.
