Contemporary Oil paintings –how to start art business

hi everybody
I just moved from Shanghai to Basel in last November. And I worked as a curator before in Museum.I heard it is not that easy to find a job here so I brought some simple contemporary oil paintings from China (only for decoration no investment value) as samples and would like to start a new business here.
Now I really need more advice what I can do now besides just load them to Ricardo. looking forward to receiving more ideas.
thank you

Re: Contemporary Oil paintings –how to start art business

Here are a few threads to get you started. Keep in mind your ability to start a business may depend on the permit you have.

Einzelfirma & Gmbh details in Zurich? [starting a business]

http://www.englishforum.ch/business-...ompany-ch.html

Starting a business with Permit B

By the way, the search box is in the upper right corner of your screen, and the easiest way to get results is to enter a few generic words instead of a specific phrase. For example, "starting a business" yielded far more results than "starting an art business." Good luck!

I don't know if this is of any value to you but some cafeterias in hopitals and such places sometimes have agreements with artists to display their work. The cafeteria benefits because the walls are decorated and the decoration is changed on a regular basis and the artists benefit from exposure and may end up selling stuff.

It'll depend on what type of permit you hold and what your nationality is.
