Charging VAT to Australian Clients

Hi All.

I have searched up and down for an answer to this question but have failed.

Our company provides a software configuration service (client management system), support and training to clients in Australia. The software sits on their servers in Australia and the training is done using GoToMeeting. When we invoice our Australian clients do we need to add Swiss VAT to the invoice?

I emailed our accountant today but haven't heard back so thought I would ask here.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Matt

No, it is a service outside Switzerland, but if you want to make 8% more on your contract, here is good excuse. Not sure how long contract will last though.

You put on invoice "Exempt from Swiss VAT"

Thank you so much for the quick reply. Very much appreciated. It's what I was thinking but wasn't 100% sure.
