Re: Car Dealer license

Previous posts suggest you live in the US and want to open a bank account here. Have you moved here yet?

Why would you want to deal in cars here? Recently due to the Swiss Franc floating, car dealerships have been hit very hard,
their stock has just devalued by 20%, so be very careful before you buy anything here!

Re: Car Dealer license

I'm a member of a club that's needs the dealer liscene so club members can rent the car from the club. Does the registration for vehicles in ticino do this or the canton? I see their web site shows drivers and vehicles but I don't see dealers liscene. Can you piont me in the right direction.

Car dealers don't rent cars, they sell them.

What you need is a normal registration with special insurance.

Re: Car Dealer license

You will not be able to open a bank account here until you live here, similarly the Verein (Society) will not be recognised if it is foreign. You are asking the impossible.

You can easily rent cars here, so I don't understand why you are trying to compete in a fully mature market.

Not trying to compete, is to lease the car to Verein members.
How do I obtain car dealer or import license in Switzerland.

The Verein is swiss domestic and not for profit.

Their is no motive for profit here, as the Verein would act
as dealer to the members by leasing the vehicle/car to them.

Walk through what you intend to do. At the moment nothing you have posted makes sense. What is the business plan?

We can not read minds.

Do how do you buy direct from manufacture?
And when you buy do you get the manufacture certificate of origin
in your name? The question is there some kind of dealers lisencing or permit
to buy from manufactures? The main goal here is to obtain the manufacture certificate of origin and bill of sale in the name of the Verein. I only assumed
that only dealer can buy direct from manufactures.

So can buy direct from Rolls Royce and receive the manufacture certificate of origin?

There is no business plan, it's a private club not for profit.

Private club or not - you have to have some plan!
How will you finance the club?

Why do you care about "certificate of origin"?
As long as you have set up a company/club you can have the company buy the car and have it registered to the company.

It's the ownership document that and bill of sale in the name of the purchaser
In my case the Verein.

1) Go to dealer
2) Choose car
3) Have invoice raised to the verein
4) Verein pays
5) Contact insurance company and have insurance in the name of the verein
6) Have dealer register the car in the name of the verein
7) Collect car
8) Drive car

Do you want to add any information that makes the above impossible?

I think you misunderstand dealer and manufacture.
When you buy from a dealer the manufacture certificate
of origin is made out to the dealer not the purchaser.
Registering the car cancels the MCO and gives the state/canton
legal title and you user title, basically you gave away your property
when you register it. I'm sure there's yearly tax on vehicles which means
if you don't pay they can take your car if you let it get that far.

Doesn't matter if your in Switzerland or US or any other country
once you register property it's no longer yours you split title to it,
that's why the state/canton can reposes it cause it's really there's
once you register it, you pay tax to use it and when you can't pay they take
it. Same thing goes for houses, and land. There ways around things if you
operate in a lawful manner.

So how to buy direct from manufacture?
In the US this is only possible through car dealer license for new
cars. So your saying in Switzerland anyone can buy from manufacture, not to be confused with dealers.

What are you going on about???
If you don't pay road-tax the police will come along (after about 3 months) and take your licence plates away. You'll then receive a big fine.

The state/kanton does not own the car.

Where are you from?
Where are you living/registered now?
What are you trying to avoid paying?
