swiss Better Business Bureau

Is there something like a Better Business Bureau in switzerland? For people who are not familiar with this, such a bureau monitors and reports on the business practices of companies, and it allows you for example to file complaints when you believe a particular business does not conduct itself properly towards you the consumer/client. See for an example: http://www.labbb.org.

Re: swiss Better Business Bureau

If there is, I'd hope it would be in Bern, located on the Bundesgasse, and staffed by Bernese (option: Bünzlies)

I'd love to see the address:
Better Business Bureau, Bundesgasse, Bern :-)

Re: swiss Better Business Bureau

Can someone point me in the right direction ?
I had some tarmac laid at my house in December by a well know company-by March it had started to break up.
I called the company they came out and admitted they had done a bad job (wrong mix) they then told me they would do it again and allow a 50% reduction to re do it and then promply sent me a new quote? The last few weeks i ve tried very hard to get them to justify why I should pay twice for a job i ve already paid once for but all to no avail in fact their offer of paying for half the work is now for a limited period! Any advice would be nice.

Oh Boy...This is typical. Most Swiss companies have no idea about "customer relations". They always treat you like they are doing you a favor by taking your money. Anyways try your local Gemeinde ( office of the town you live in) and ask them if they have a number you can call.
I was looking in my files because I know a long time ago I had a number for this. Couldn't find it...But try the Gemeinde...Good Luck

Re: swiss Better Business Bureau

Have you sent them a written complaint? You might need to approach it from a "breach of contract" perspective. in other words it's NOT your expectation that tarmac lasts 3 months.

Nothing in writing no good in CH.

Re: swiss Better Business Bureau

Very simple... Send them a registered letter letting them know that unless the problem is quickly rectified you will take them to the betriebsamt. If you are sure that you are in the right then go to the geminde office and file a betriebung against them. It will be quickly resolved.
