Re: B permit self employment?

If you already have a B permit and it authorises gainful employment (activité lucrative) then you can but you may need a commercial licence from your commune to operate a business.

Thankyou Shorrick,
I did see that and even the link to the one about working as an independant it just seemed to be more about running a 'company' and this is not what i needed I just want to run a dance class once or twice a week and i wasnt sure if it is written on my permit somewhere that i could be self employed. Now you have noticed my post hopefully I can be so bold to ask you something else .... i noticed the bit you wrote about being a sole trader (which i guess that I would be) and wondered about the difficulties you said that would be incountered if i was contracted ie if hotels were to contract me for 12 months or so.
Becky

Sorry, because your B permit will be in German not French. Any employment restriction will appear under the section headed "Aufenthaltszweck/But du séjour/scopo del soggiomo" which can be found
at the bottom of the page opposite your photo, just under your address.

If you're an EU-15 national you can do whatever you pretty please (which is the essence of the sticky...)

Not to work. Maybe just to operate a commercial enterprise. That you'll have to check with your gemeinde. It may not be necessary to run a dance class.

Re: B permit self employment?

What happens if the B permit holder is from a non EU country? Can this person still form a Sole Trader company?
