Zug - place to sit with internet while I get an office?

Hello all - starting a business hopefully within the month in canton Zug. I need a place to sit down and work with my laptop while I get an office - which might be as quick as next week. Back in Spain I just went to the local library and worked from there using their wifi access. It was a quiet, convenient location. Here I just went to 2 libraries and none of them (including the one in Zug stadt itself!) have wifi! . So heading to Starbucks but that is noisy - do anyone know any quiet location in the canton I can use to sit down and work, with wifi connection while I get an office going?

Thanks all,

Juan Miguel Venturello

I don't know of any place in Zug that gives free wifi but you could buy a mobile unlimited USB modem from Swisscom to use, I don't think they are very expensive.

EDIT: Sorry, missed that you did not want to go to Starbucks. It might be a question of the time of day or day of week. And you have a choice of two locations. One may be quieter than the other.

Starbucks.
Buy a coffee. Ask for an Internet/Wi-Fi card or two (each good for 30 minutes).

NATEL®data easy - look on Swisscom.ch for this. 3G network at your fingertips.
Max. cost 7,50 per day.

PWLAN Value Cards might also be an option. Coverage should be widespread (where you see "MOBILE" on your wireless).

Re: Zug - place to sit with internet while I get an office?

Thanks all - will go to the Starbucks, did not know it was limited to 30 mins. What a hassle! Problem for me is the noise and people going in and out, etc.

@Boxman, I am using my Swisscom iPhone with a 250Mb account - speed is nice - but those 250Mb will run out soon - so might consider something like that if need is.

No other alternatives? In Spain I would go to a college's or a public library for example. So many things going for Switzerland - with a few negatives

Thanks all!

I might not have been clear with the comment about the 30 minutes. Each card gives you 30 minutes.

If you need more time, just go up to the cash and ask for another card. You do not need to buy a second coffee.

I always ask for two at a time. Saves me running back to the cash.

Mantra Bar by the main entrance of the train station has free WIFI. It's pretty quite during the day but also pretty smokey

If you are within range you can still use the Swisscom PWLAN from Zug station. There are several Coffee shops that would not hasten you and would spare you going to Sta*ucks.

I can reach the Zug station Swisscom PWLAN frmo Metalli!

Once you are connected it is unlimited.

Re: Zug - place to sit with internet while I get an office?

Thanks for the tips all, Traubert, I used the Swisscom option as well, being a subscriber.

But now the fiduciary company that is doing all the work for me has allowed me to use one of their temp spaces for cheap, so using that. Much better!
