Advice needeed regarding new buisness:)

Hi All, I am looking for some general advice about opening up a small preschool in the Lausanne area. I am a qualified primary school teacher with a specialism in early years and have been working in an international primary school in Lausanne for the past two years. I am interested in opening a preschool based on the foundation stage curriculum based on the Uk system and not based on montessoiri. It would be either an english speaking preschool or bilingual. My qualifications are recognised by the Swiss Teaching Council and in the past I was a manager of a creche in England,
I would like some advice on start up costs, insurance, the laws in Switzerland etc, any websites with information you could suggest and any other information?

Nice to know that and wishing all the luck for your project!
There was a thread in the EF about it:

How to Start a Preschool - Kt. Aargau

I am a teacher also and I'll be looking for a job soon...all the best!

Sincerely,

Ana

This will probably cover a lot of information for you...

specifically for responsibilty with children, I am not sure, but if you rent and open a public building, this may help too. Code civil suisse.

Re: Advice needeed regarding new buisness:)

Thank you for the replies I will have a look at the threads and links. Does anyone know if it is a comercial property that I would have to rent? Still trying to understand the Swiss laws with regards to opening up a buisness like this and where exactly to start. Is their anyone out there who would have some knowledge in this area and would not mind sharing.
Thanks again

what is your permit in Switzerland?
If you have nationality, it is easy to get going, if not, you'll need legal help to ensure everything is done according to business laws.

You do not need the Swiss nationality to start up a business in Switzerland.

I did not say you did, but you will need work permits and legal advice for protection while keeping children under your care.

Yes, but for this Swiss nationality is irrelevant.

If the OP has a Swiss passport, they could have a lot of the ideas where to get info AND less red tape to get around. Work permits and their variations have a huge impact on everything you do here.
