Thanks this is interesting. Do you know anyone who has used this www.startups.ch company or are they new to the scene?

Re: Start-ups

I'm sorry I don't know any - I found the website through the newsletter of www.formika.ch (network of start-ups in Ticino)

I haven't found anything special about this one. Any Treuhand can do the job for about the same price.

my experience in BS was not great by any means (went to find out about an Einzelfirma). the advisor was helpful, alas, not able to communicate in english. and helpful does not really cut it when you go to see a lawyer afterwards to make sure the advice you got there was correct: startups informed with that with my EU B permit i would have no hassle and the lawyer said that my permit would be revoked for the first 6 months and replaced by a temporary permit (not sure what category) until i prove that my business in fact running as per the requirements (i.e. minimum of 3 clients etc.). the advisor told me that she will respond to questions after our meeting and each time she had to be sent 2 reminder emails before responding.

i paid CHF 150 for an initial consultation that can be used as a credit at the time of founding through them.

but that should not deter you to visit another office of theirs - perhaps your experience will be better.

Re: Start-ups

Hi,
I used startups.ch together with a Swiss Treuhand (accountant) and it worked fine. I am now up and running since 2 years and in the process of soon signing my first financial report for the first "long year" (started summer 2008). I used Postfinance and got a deduction. I didn't know about insurances otherwise I could have chosen that aswell and gotten further reductions. The cost was slightly less using startups (1500 if I recall). The accountant offered to do a normal startup all included for 2000CHF.
The startup price is really less important since you pay a lot of other stuff once you are in operation.

Good luck

in other words, they pull you into higher recurring costs, right? That's what I heard from a colleague of mine.
