Understanding how to work with light is the key to taking unique and interesting photographs. The word ‘photography’ translates literally to ‘writing with light’. Lighting is the foundation of all photography and learning to work with and manipulate light is an important step in the development of every photographer. In this class you will learn techniques for working in natural (outdoor) and available (indoor) lighting situations and how to take control of your lighting to create unique and interesting images through hands-on exercises and instructor guidance.
You will learn:
- How light works: The theory and physics of lighting and how to manipulate it to your advantage.
- Do-it-yourself techniques: Learn how you can make your own, inexpensive lighting modifiers to help you control the light.
- Practical techniques: Practice what you learn outside and in our studio under the supervision and guidance of the instructor.
Class Format: Hands-on, interactive learning taught by a working professional photographer.
Class Time: 10:30 - 17:30
Experience Level: Beginner
Class fee: CHF 325* per person
Location: ViewFinder Center - ZURICH studio
Requirements: A digital compact (point & shoot) or digital SLR camera. A zoom lens is recommended, but not required. Come prepared to shoot: Don’t forget your charged batteries and memory cards.
Class size: Minimum of 6 students, maximum of 10.
