City/Town: Richterswil (Zurich)
Event Type: Sport
Location: Hillseeker Performance Lab

I'm happy to announce the hosting of a special hands-on Bike Repair and Maintenance workshop! This is a great opportunity to shore up skills and knowledge that could make a big difference in the outcome of a sunny July afternoon in the future when you are faced with the attack of bike gremlins (invisible monsters who sneak up and do things like puncture your tire or break your chain)! Two classes will be offered, basic and advanced, and you may choose one or both. The instructor is Bike Guru Chris White (Head Mechanic at The Bike in Lausanne, Technical Advisor to Bike Switzerland and EF Veteran ChrisW ).

I'm hosting it at my gym in Richterswil & will offer a free coached workout in between the basic and advanced classes.

Details, including syllabus, cost, & directions are here. It's limited to the first 8 who sign up!
RSVP'd Yes: 1 (1 members and No guests)
  • hillseeker - Will be there - Definitely would rather learn it now instead of having to figure it out somehow in the middle of a ride!
RSVP'd No: 1
  • jako - I'd love to attend this. Unfortunately I am flying away on biz on the 5th. If you chance the date or have a second one at some point, then I am in.
RSVP sign-ups for this event are now closed.

Re: Bicycle Maintenance Workshop

do you have to bring your own bike (or can you bring it)? or how does one get the hand-on experience (i assume theory is one thing but practical is a totally different set of shoes)?

We'll have 1-2 repair stands setup with bikes on them. You are welcome to bring your own bike as well, and if you have one, a repair stand. This is not required, but is an option if you'd like to have your own bike and/repair stand there.
