Smartphones and tablets are becoming more popular for both personal and business use. While they offer many advantages, they also have some drawbacks. For example, what happens if your smartphone is lost or stolen? In his presentation, Alexis FitzGerald, a consultant with an MSc in information security, will describe the main security risks with these devices, and the simple measures you and your company can take to minimize the problem.

Following the presentation, members of The Bern English Resource Network (BERNnet) will give three-minute presentations of the services offered by BERNnet. The evening will conclude with food, drinks and networking.

Directions with public transportation: From the main train station take Tram 9 direction Guisanplatz or Bus 10 direction Ostermundigen to the stop “Viktoriaplatz”. From the bus stop cross the street. Follow the bus down Viktoriastrasse one block, passing the fire station, to the corner of Gotthelfstrasse and turn left. The Theoriesaal is in the middle of the building up a flight of stairs.
Directions by car: The nearest parking garage is at the Kursaal. Exit at Ostring and take Laubeggstrasse (passing the garage on the right) to Viktoriaplatz. Turn left, drive down the hill, and turn right after the hotel into the garage.
