It may sound a bit odd but Helena Chlepnac from Sushi Fusion recently tried some of my Sam Smiths Oatmeal Stout after eating some Sushi and she described it as a new taste sensation. It shouldn't be so surprising as we've been drinking Irish Stout with oysters for years in Britain and Ireland but it's certainly something that not many people over here have thought about.

So this coming Saturday Helena will be at the Viadukt market in Zurich opposite the British Cheese Centre bar showing how to prepare Sushi (from our neighbours Braschlers fish shop) and giving a free tasting with some of my British black beers and ales. She'll also be preparing some Sushi plates to take home or to eat at our bar (these won't be free though!). If my new beer delivery arrives in time we'll also have some Old Tom strong Ginger Ale to pair as well.
