A) two hours just with prayers ? you are in Europe here, and even a full church service is not done over more than ONE hour. And either on Sunday morning, or after 6pm. Offer your thing on Saturday or Sunday between 6pm and 6.55pm and you will find your folks
B) prayers ? mix it with some music group(s) performing for some 10 minutes three times within those 55 minutes
C) you do not need translations. But you need to adapt to Central Europe, where you are here

You need to get out more. The church I attend, in Basel, has services on Sunday morning from 10am until after 12pm. Tuesday evening prayer meetings - 2 hours. I know one fairly traditional American evangelical style church, also in Basel, that has several one hour prayer meetings every week. Even in some Anglican churches in the UK, services and prayer meetings are longer than one hour. And in some of the state churches in Switzerland.

Some people do "god" things because they like to - not out of tradition or duty.

If the talking is in English, then offering translation to French and/or German seems only polite. My church offers simultaneous translation into French and Spanish. The teaching is in English and German.

Now, Egbune Pastor Freedom. Is your middle name really "Pastor"? Or is that Egbune a title?

We do not pass offering bags or bowls but if are lead to give, it will not be rejected. According to the bible (KJV), giving of the giver's benefit. Luke:6 v38

I love praying. The bible says in 1Thessalonians 5v17 -19: Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. You Quench the spirit of God when you stop reading the bible and praying. God Bless you for asking

There is no translation for offering because we do not pass offering bowls. We translate the prayer points so that everyone will understand and pray along. God bless you.

We do have some minutes for bible studies and a few for worship during the time frame. There is a lot to pray. We need prayers. See prayer points - https://www.facebook.com/events/527148187318758/

Re: Sunday Prayer Session in English

You misunderstand. Replace the word "offering" with "providing". I.e. you offer translation - it's something you are providing.

I don't think this is a "get my ten posting so I can sell my Ikea lamp type thread". Getting a FB page set up would seem to be rather too much effort for a scam of that nature. You lot are sooooooooooo sinical (sic).

Re: Sunday Prayer Session in English

The power of prayer is a beautiful thing. It's inmeasurable because it's based on faith.

Please don't weigh this thread down with arguments regarding religion. For some people, the pastor's offer may be exactly what they are searching for.

As for donations and/or membership fees, the pastor needs a source of income in order to survive too. I realize religion and money is a fine line that's open to abuse. Let's hope the OP pastor is one of the good guys.

Edit:
For those of you who gave the pastor red blobs, I find that's teetering on bullying and ignorance. He hasn't said or done anything that warrants your anger.

Why not work and offer the prayers for free in his spare time at night?

We all have our reasons for doing the things we do. I'll leave that question for the pastor to answer.

Re: Sunday Prayer Session in English

Some people pastor and work full time. Paul the apostle supported himself through tent-making for quite a while.

The assumption that this guy doesn't work full time is probably right in this day and age, but not necessarily. The event is on a sunday, so he wouldn't be working then, anyway. Also, you only have to give if you want to. Of course, problems arise when people tell you that if you don't give you're offending God, or that the law of the tithe is for today, or that the reason Adam fell was because he didn't pay the tithe.

Btw - I've met Adrian. Sometimes he is an abomination, but usually he's ok.

You're made to feel guilty then the 'weaker minded'* people can't handle the guilt so cough up and become regular payers because giving their hard earned money in return for prayer makes them feel good?

*my opinion only.
