Just for those who are inclined to head out in this windy, rainy and chilly weather (at least for an Australian), there is a fun run that a few of us are going to valiantly have a go at.

Currently targeting the 'premium' time range 40-48 minutes for 8.5km

I took part in this last year and there was a great atmosphere.
Quite a few people line the route cheering and as with any Swiss event they get their cow bells out!

I've signed up again this year, but I'm definitely still only a medium category runner.

Just done a 10k fun run back in the UK and would be interested in this. My german is none existent unfortunately. Have translated bits of the site using babel but where are the categories (the Brighton one just asked for a time) and what is the distance 8.5K?

There are many various categories with various distances
(e.g. children, youth, families) but I assume you're interested in the main single runner categories which are 8.6km.

These are:
Elite (invitation only!)
Züri Fit (<40mins)
Premium (<48mins)
Medium (48-55 mins)

If you expect to take longer than 55mins you'll be signing up with the "fun-runners" in their Faschnacht costumes.

Due to the large amount of participants the start can be a bit like the pamplona bull run, but that's all part of the fun.

BTW you only have until the 25th Nov to sign up!
