sourdough bread workshop this Sunday

Hi all,
I'm hosting my first ever sourdough bread baking workshop this Sunday morning, but unfortunately 3 out of the 4 participants backed out at the last minute. If anybody is interested and free this Sunday, please PM me! details below:

In this workshop you will learn how to make sourdough bread, a simple step at a time. I will talk about the many health benefits inherent in a loaf of whole wheat bread that has had a chance to slowly ferment. When the fresh bread comes out of the oven, we will enjoy it as part of an early lunch.

After I discovered how healthy and delicious sourdough bread can be, I spent endless hours scouring books and the Internet to learn how to make it at home. I'd never baked bread before, and it seemed like such a complex undertaking. It took me almost a year to gather the courage to even try! Now, countless loaves later, we hardly buy any bread - it's much healthier, more delicious, and cheaper to bake it at home. And with a bit of planning ahead, it's even easy! Once you see the process from the beginning to its delicious end, you will see how easy it is to incorporate bread baking into even a busy lifestyle.

The workshop fee is 65 CHF, and will include an early lunch of soup and bread buddies such as baba ganoush, sweet ganoush, guacamole, hummus, kimchi (all homemade), cheese, drinks, and of course freshly baked sourdough bread. You will take home a starter kit: fresh stoneground flour mix (wholewheat, whole spelt, and white flours) from a nearby farm, and live yeast starter.

Hi there,

I am sorry to hear you were left high and dry at the last moment for your sourdough workshop in Oct.
A sourdough starter is something I have tried to accomplish a number of times but frustratingly it has never worked out for me after weeks of feeding and taking care of it. A class to to learn where I may be going wrong would be something that I would be interested in.
Where are you based, I am in the Lausanne area. I have worked for many years in the culinary industry however yeast bread making is my absolute nemesis!
