For those who live near Vevey just a reminder that every Saturday morning the Marchés folkloriques are help in the market square (Grand Place) until 30th August.

Every week a different winemaker offers their local wine. The glasses have a different motive each week and you keep them. A normal glass costs CHF 5 and there is another one for CHF 9 but, with this Verre dégustation, you can keep getting it refilled ! In addition to this there are many market stalls selling a variety of items.

If possible its best to go by train, or other public transport, as parking is very difficult, if not impossible.

The Vevey market is great fun and when you've finished walking around and sampling the wine, there are lots of good restaurants within walking distance of the market square to have lunch. As BlonayBear mentioned, parking in Vevey on Saturday is a mess. The market square is impossible and the underground parking near the Manor/Migros commercial center gets very full. Take public transport or leave the car on the outskirts of town and either walk or take the bus
