City/Town: Zurich
Event Type: Special Promotion
Location: The Pie Shop, Rotbuchstrasse 1a, 8006
Price: 18 Fr

Our very popular Ploughman's lunch is coming to Zurich at last on the 23rd August. The precise menu is still to be agreed (I'll add it here as soon as it is finalised), but the PML will include some sort of pie as well as some very special British Cheese.

We will be starting at 11am selling cheese and pies but the lunch will not start until noon. Closing time is set at 7 but could go on longer if we get enough demand, or have enough food and beer left.

The beer will be bottled only and will be coming from Spiffing Ales as well as the Rappi Bier factory. There will also be lager (I'll try to get some decent Appenzellar BIO Bier) and wine.

I'm trying very hard to get hold of some more Shropshire Blue in time for this (only 2 kilos left after the Rappi do) but I will have Stilton, Red Leicester, Godminster Cheddar and Hawes Wensleydale for sure as well as a couple of lesser known cheeses including Duddleswell mild Sheeps cheese from East Sussex.

Hope to see some new faces!

Mike

We're also planning a whisky and cheese evening there with Scottish pies and for Christmas a Port & Stilton night. Gentleman will be expected to dress accordingly.
Hi GG,

Obviously the gazebo will be required to allow the ladiez space to withdraw while gentlemen can discuss business and racing fillys. I will don my favourite smoking jacket and cravatte for the occasion.

I'll also be bringing our gazebo and patio heater so we can move outside. (also so Dave can enjoy his cigars and 2 bottles of wine in comfort)

I only dropped by to pick up some beer, but ended up eating a delicious pie, drinking superb Ale and taking some cheese home with me (that garlic yarg is great!)

I can't wait until next time! (there has to be a next time so I can bring my wife who gave me a hard time for not taking her along )
I second the comment on the garlic yarg, managed to get one too, and it's delicious !

Barbra.

Never mind the cheese - bring on the pickled onions.
