Sounds interesting. Who is organizing the event? We are looking to hold a folk festival next year, maybe we can get together?
Regards,

Is the place get-away-from-able? | | | | | The event is actually in the village of Rietbad, not far from Nesslau. You can get trains to Nesslau and there are buses to the event but I haven't found out yet what time the last bus leaves - I'll get Swiss Miss to ask the organisers this afternoon. Looking at the MAP I suppose it is walkable to Nesslau...... or it should be quite easy to get a lift on a tractor!
The event opens Friday afternoon at 3pm and goes on very late and starts again early Saturday morning, but the live music doesn't start until 3pm again.

Hoi Mr Grapefruit!
Thank you for the information! It turns out that I won't be able to make it after all - sorry!
When's the next cheesy event? (and I don't mean the Eurovision...)

Pity you can't make it, I was just about to offer you a lift |

Oooh bugger.
Might see you on Sunday, though. Possibly even in a suit (one of the (many) reasons I can't make it to an Irish drinking and music session the previous night...)!

UPDATE:
There is an event organised shuttle bus between the event and Nesslau and it will be timed to coincide with train departures and arrivals at Nesslau BH. If you haven't got a tent, there are some large communal tents free of charge, you just need a sleeping bag and mat - no reservations, it's first come first served. Personally, I think I'll put up with the one hour drive home.
Catering wise, a local restaurant will be serving Irish Stew, fish & chips & probably the usual brat & brot. Guinness will be on tap and a couple of whisky suppliers will be there. We'll be serving some special cheeses from Co Cork and our whisky "Rarebits" to keep the late night chill out, although the weather forecast is pretty good at the moment.
