This is the first of the 2 major Swiss Highland Games taking part this year, the other one is at the end of August near Fribourg (there are at least 3 other smaller ones) and judging by last year, this will be a blast. These guys take it very seriously - the caber tossing, as well as the drinking.

There's plenty of bars and food and music, marching bands and pipers during the day, and lots of live bands during the evening including the Red Hot Chilli Pipers (yes, I had to read that twice too). There is camping on site.

Not sure of the entry price yet, there's a few options for one day and the whole weekend. As soon as I get them clarified I'll post them.

The event is organised mainly by Chrigi Kessler, the big bloke on the left in the photo below with the sword, who runs the restaurant at the Fehraltorf airstrip. We'll be there again with loads of Scottish & Irish cheeses (and I'll sneak in some English and Welsh too), and if we get our alcohol license for the weekend, we'll also be serving the infamous Hot Toddies (are you listening DB?)
