Went to this last year on the Sunday afternoon, lots of fun and yes, there was caber-tossing too. Will probably go this Sunday as well.

Final Bump before I head off to Fribourg. Come by to the cheese stall and say hello. I do know of a couple of forumers who will be taking part in the competitions. they seem to be keeping that fact fairly quiet though. I wonder why?

Managed a brief visit Friday evening. Thanks for the 'samples' Mike. If you are going by bus from Fribourg check return times. Fridays were 8.10 or 01.10. Last bus 02.10 buses leave from stop 13 at station. Have fun

Which athlete won today ?

It was just amazing to see how effortless some of them could throw back those weights, as if they were peanuts ! The most impressive event, I found, was the trunk throwing.

As for the bag-pipes.. so beautiful.

Interesting, that Swiss Germans and Scots would be attracted to the same types of sport, with the same approach. I found a lot similiarities between the two.
