  • Dougal's Breakfast - I can just imagine it...
  • Slaphead - So can I.
  • Uncle Max - uh-uh
  • BHBT - Finger food and all you can drink...methinks this is a recipe for disaster....
  • simon_ch - 100.- for 4 hours of drinking ? Not even I am that fast!
  • Patxi - If I wanted to be around a bunch of binge-drinking Brits, I'd go to Ibiza. No thanks.
  • HollidayG - Have a birthday party that night!! I like the Penny Farthing though.

Re: The Big British Booze Up!

Errm I can already drink as much as I like over a period of 4 hours, and I'll have not spent anywhere near a 100 chufs doing it.

Even have some hot meal with it, not finger food.

If Uncle J Daniels will be on the House, then maybe worth it

Re: The Big British Booze Up!

Six doubles? In four hours? That's three times the recommended maximum. And then you're promoting all-you-can-drink beer and wine?
Know Your Units!

The NHS recommends that:
■Men should not regularly drink more than three to four units of alcohol per day.
■Women should not regularly drink more than two to three units of alcohol per day.

Sorry, mate, but a) it's overpriced and b) it's daft c) it's a hell of a buffet d) what kinda people would be attracted to such an event?

I hope your security is good...

Re: The Big British Booze Up!

Is there a taxi-service included in the price (Kriens and back) or is everybody expected to jump into their own car - totally plastered - and drive back home? I honestly don't think that this type of binge drinking is going to attract a lot of adults around here.

Did anybody go to this event? Any feedback? Much carpet shampoo required afterwards?

Re: The Big British Booze Up!

Binge drinking aside, how was this even remotely a good deal financially speaking? Unbelievable!

I live quite near but....I had a Children's party for my 5 year old girl between 4pm & 7pm. Lot's of fun & lots of little ones with cake, sparklers, balloons, games, presents, musical chairs and happy singalongs!

Managed a small bottle of Eichof when they were all gone & she was tucked up in bed, what a shame I missed it!

I have faint recollections of showing up. The next thing I remember is waking up, reeking of goat urine.

Umm, no, you just had a dream as this thread was slopping around in your mind, so you thought you showed up. The goat business, I'm afraid to say, is nothing new...

I'm used to the smell of sheep urine. Goat urine is entirely new to me.

Re: The Big British Booze Up!

Thanks to all who turned up! Didn't expect such a good turn out....but I must say sorry for the mess in the toilet! Hope all of you who turned up enjoyed it.

We're already planning when the next one will be so will keep you all posted, probably before the end of November.

Hope to see you all again!
