Re: Grumpys Pub (well not quite, but almost) the "Man Creche" is now serving.

Not just a man creche....

Our little girl had a great time today playing with another lovely EF girl whilst we enjoyed excellent cheese, brilliant bagels and lovely cider... Nice way to spend a rainy Saturday.
Thanks Grumpy!

Will Grumpygrape have a stand at the Rapperswil Christmas market? I'm trying to organise an outing with some of my English students and I'd love to end it at his stand.

Welsh Rarebit, British cheese and hot toddies- what a way to end the Rapperswil market!

We'll be there from the 9th - 18th this year and we are being moved down the hill towards the lake. No Rarebits this year, but we will have toasted cheddar bagels as well as Hot Toddies and a Port and Whisky bar. And of course we will be selling cheese too!

I won't be there very often though myself but let me know when you intend to visit and I'll try to arrange to be there myself.

Bought my first bagel from the HB stall today and it was amazingly yummy with the perfect amount of chewiness. Nice work.
I have a feeling it will be the first of many…

Re: Grumpys Pub (well not quite, but almost) the "Man Creche" is now serving.

Just a quick update..... the Bagel bar is running very well now and we have 5 freezers full of them so shouldn't run out of any flavours. You can buy them to take home or have them lightly toasted with cream cheese, cheddar, blue stilton and a variety of jellies, jams and chutneys too. The best seller is a warm onion bagel with Godminster cheddar and Tangy Tomato chutney.

The bar area gets a makeover next week, we've had to reduce the number of different beers but there should always be at least 20 to take home or drink there and from next week we start serving Pimms by the glass or jug to share as well as port and sherry. Wine and champagne etc is still available at the Oyster bar next to us (we share tables at the front of the market)

And a date for your diary, 2nd June is the Diamond Jubilee and we'll be celebrating with a small street party outside the front doors. Food will include a Ploughmans Lunch, salmon and cucumber sandwiches, scones and clotted cream, cheese plates, cakes and the Pie Shop will be making a special "Royal Pie". Rumour has it that there will also be a very handsome man in a kilt playing his bagpipes.
