Grumpys Pub (well not quite, but almost) the "Man Creche" is now serving.

OK, so it's not really a pub as I don't have a license to serve beer to drink at my stall..... but I can sell you one of over 40 different British Ales and Ciders (including a Perry - and some will be chilled) and there appears to be a few bottle openers around too and there are no restrictions on drinking alcohol in and around the market.

So, this week I moved from my little back water corner stall behind the Pie Shop to the best island in the market.... the big one near the front doors that Slow Food had when we opened (I have been given the whole island by the management). It is also right next to Marcellos deli and the Champagne and Oyster bar, and both of these guys are dead chuffed that I have moved next to them. It also means that if ale is not your thing, then wine and champers can also be had.

You may also have heard whispers of Bagels. Yes, I also have a Bagel Bar on my island and the feedback so far is that they are just about as good, or even equal, to those in the US. One American friend described them as being a bit closer to Chicago than NY bagels, you may know what that means as I certainly don't. You can buy to take home (fresh or frozen) Plain, Wholemeal, Onion, Sesame and Raisin & Cinnamon or I can toast them and serve with cream cheese, Godminster cheddar with chutney, Blue Stilton with Port jelly or the "Swiss Miss" Bagel.... toasted with cream cheese/Nutella mix.

My Port Wine selection has also grown and as well as Vintage, LBV, sweet and drier White I also have a Rosé Port..... it is fantastic served chilled with blue cheese and can also be served as a long drink mixed with Tonic.

So, come and say hello, we're slowing easing into coping with a bigger island with bigger demand but tomorrow (Saturday 10th September) we should be firing on all cylinders. Why not come down in the afternoon after my lunch time rush and enjoy a drink with us. I'll provide a free cheese apéro and as long as I don't sell out of Bagels I'll serve some toasted with cream cheese for you to try.

Thanks everyone here for supporting us in our first year at the Viadukt, you have all been great ambassadors for me!

Not great photos as these were taken late last night after the market had closed)

Looking good GG!

We were saying last night that a trip to the Viadukt was needed soon, so maybe we'll head up to see you tomorrow afternoon

We'll have to hire a car though as I'm pretty sure we won't be able to carry all the beer and port back by train

Ate my very first bagel ever yesterday and it was very good! We've been trying out the British beers during Viadukt Thursday night, and I've been quite enjoying it!

Rosé Port?!

And included in a sentence with blue cheese and tonic?!

Damn, I need to get to your market!

When are you coming to Lausanne? I'll be first in line

Congratulations on the move, GG - stall looks pretty good on the pictures. I'll try and convince my OH to make the excursion across town tomorrow afternoon - the super beer selection might convince him that it's really worth it!

And it was sooooooooooooooooooooo tasty and creamy! And because I got to tease all the people that didn't have the possibility to get one themselves, it tasted even better... like victory!

(have to try the one with cheddar next time!)

Do you have any Crabbies (the ginger beer) right now?

The last batch I managed to get was down near Geneva; lucky the car show was on that day otherwise it'd be a looooong way for some sweet, sweet ginger beer!
