I know, a bit of a strange question here, but really need so help here,

I own a lovely Online Lingerie Store and I love it! My clients are from everywhere which is of course the fun part of being online.
My English and French customers for example enjoy and understand the beauty and importance (yes it is) to wear Sexy lingerie also during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The Swiss, not so much.
They will spend the money on expensive lingerie, but plain one, why? Why not make the effort always. It`s fun, feels good, keeps a smile on your partners face, so why not???

I'm English and value my Marks and Sparks comfy pants so it's not just the Swiss that don't blow their entire underwear budget on lacy bits of nothing.

Try tailoring your line of products to the needs of your target market maybe?

EDIT - although thinking about it; the amount of bum cleavage split with a g-string that I see bent over in Zurich leads me to think they are no strangers to teeny-weeny knickers...

Well, from pretty much all brands possible and imaginable, I got a pretty general feeling that wearing sexy lingerie 24/7 is impossible because it's just damn uncomfortable (and a pain to wash... lace in the washing-machine is a no-no). Maybe the Swiss ladies have similar experiences?

ok, but what if the lingerie looks beautiful but costs as much as any plain one does?
color and lace does not mean you need to spend much more, simply more fun.

Price is irrelevant if I'm spending half my day repositioning it from being lodged between bum cheeks.

when buying lingerie for the mrs. I always do a simple test.. regardless of price..

I'm with the Swiss on that one. I go for comfort and reasonable price. I don't like ugly underwear (i.e. no granny pants) and I do own some sexy underwear for "special" occasions .... but most of the time I wear plain things that don't show under my clothes because I absolutely hate that. VPL and "visible lacey bra under your shirt" I find .

When it comes down to nursing / maternity wear, well, frankly I just couldn't be bothered. When you have to stuff your bra with nursing pads anyway, how can it ever be sexy? Comfort and being able to easily unclip is probably the most important - as is being able to throw the thing in the washing machine since it's going to get covered in milk and probably baby sick every day (ooo sexy).

Personally I do not think it's ever "important" to wear sexy underwear. How you feel about yourself has nothing to do with a pair of knickers as far as I'm concerned. You can be totally sexy with a plain pair on. And I agree with the PP, maybe you should not try to change your target market but instead adapt your range of products according to demand.

Considering that pregnancy and nursing are only temporary, relatively short periods of time in a woman's life, it may be that some women are not interested in investing money purchasing lingerie that would fit their bodies for only a limited time.

Even those who want to showcase their "assets" during this time will likely be faced with significant changes in shape/size of those assets once pregnancy and nursing are discontinued, thus the fancy lingerie would have, sadly, a limited life.
