I have been given a 14 year old Fiat Punto, with 95'000 Km. It is in good condition apart from accident damage and in need of a service.
A body repair shop in Bern quoted CHF 3'300 to repair the two doors. I went to
http://www.karosserie-braendlin.de/ who did an excellent job (Arrived Monday at 2 pm, and ready on Thursday at 2 pm) for CHF 1'400.
The last major service was done at Km 85'000 (Including the cam drive belt) and for the Km 95'000 I took the Punto to a FIAT garage in Lörrach

I arrived at 8 am and gave instructions to do the service and fix the "Miss-firing" at low revolutions. Just as the mechanic was driving me to the station we heard a bad metallic noise at the back, the brake pads were gone! I spent the day in Lörrach and picked the car up at 6 pm. They did the official service, changed the petrol pump, the back brake drums, and a brake wheel cylinder. At the same time the mechanic reported the clutch was in need of repair. Cost was CHF 625 tax free plus CHF 73 Swiss MWSt. I am completely happy with the work and the prices.
Yesterday I took the car in at 8 am for the clutch repair. I collected it at 5 pm after another day in Lörrach (I could have gone to Basel for the day of course). The labour for removing the gearbox and repairing the clutch was CHF 347 and parts were CHF 222 both tax free, and the Swiss MWSt was a total of CHF 45.35 and again I am very satisfied, the pedal is much lighter and easier to operate.
If you need your car serviced, I am happy to take it to the garage, wait a day, and bring it back for a fixed CHF 100 per day plus my travel costs.
