Bean bags

I have recently been indulging in a new hobby of making bean bags to order. They are ordered mainly by families with little kids to play and rest, but i have also had a couple of people who want them as relaxing bags.

Every bag has an inner bag out of standard white material (to hold the polystyrene balls in place) and an outer bag out of thicker and often colourful and fun material normally from Ikea, all are double sewed to ensure sturdiness. The outer bag has a zip in case you need to wash it.

I sell them complete and filled for 175CHF but then they are HUGE and very expensive to post, so would prefer to have them picked up. Alternatively, I can make both bags and post them empty for 125CHF plus 7CHF postage, it will then be up to the costumer to order the polystyrene balls, fill and close the inner bag.

I hope this works and this link shows you some of the bags i have made.

Thanks in advance
Martha

Re: Bean bags

So 175 for the bag plus 28 for delivery right? Not bad at all considering that i found something similar in a shop but not that nice for 400!

Im definitely interested. We have those back home and i miss them If you could double check for delivery it would be great. And also how big are they? They look adult sized in the pictures which is great but im wearing glasses so....

Re: Bean bags

Ok here is an update. I just got my bag today. Mine is the stripey and grey one (3 last pics). https://picasaweb.google.com/1077704...CPSa_qO7lsDYEw

Its extremely comfortable to sit on and very well made. Dealing with Martha was also very easy. Just chose my fabric (which wasnt easy given so much choice!), emailed her my choices and that was it. Two weeks later i got my bag delivered to my door in Geneva.

The only problem is that the cats already decided that they like it and i have to fight them for sitting rights! Otherwise all went well and i will definitely order again when i get more space

Re: Bean bags

Are they indeed adult-sized? I am interested in a couple of bean bags to serve as "gaming chairs" for my teenagers, one of whom is man-sized.

Re: Bean bags

Hiya, thanks Gata for reviving this thread, i am really pleased you enjoying your bag.

Textoch, we have 2 children and 2 bags, my husband who is 1,86m only sits on 1 of our bags when watching tv or using the playstation despite the fact that we have a HUGE sofa, my best friend uses hers for reading. Also i can make them different sizes and shapes just not had orders for any yet as this is fairly new adventure for me. But the standard shape i make is best suited for sitting for sure.

Also as my previous post, i can confirm 28chf is the price PDP charges for sending them anywhere in Switzerland. The price of the bag is still 175CHF provided you stay within the standard materials and shapes, but i always warn of any price changes before anything is agreed.

Feel free to PM me, I am happy to answer any questions.

Re: Bean bags

Bumping this thread as I ordered two custom bags from Martha and received them just today.

They are beautiful, well made, and so incredibly comfortable that I would likely doze off while watching TV if I was sitting in one!

As Gata said, the only hard part of the process of ordering is choosing the fabrics to suit one's personal tastes!

Many thanks, Martha!!

Re: Bean bags

Once again thank you, makes me happy to hear from my happy costumers

BTW the fabric choosing process i would love a way to make easier, but not sure how, although as i gain more knowledge of which fabrics work and which don't i hope the process gets easier and easier.

I am open to more orders now that i fulfilled my last one. Just PM me any questions.

Re: Bean bags

I stood in the scales without and then holding the bag, i weighed exactly 5,2kg. Bearing in mind its all handmade and it can vary from bag to bag, i would estimate between 5 and 6kg.

Re: Bean bags

Just finished 2 more orders (photos will follow eventually) but i am free to take orders again. Also i am planning a trip to Ikea shortly for myself, so if i get an order in the meantime, i can coordinate and buy the agreed material then.

Thanks
Marta
