If you are dying for good laugh (a really good laugh, not a polite Bahnhofstrasse titter) join us (I'm Canadian, my boyfriend is English) at Mascotte Every Sunday fortnight for - believe it - COMEDY! Yes, the brave Guy Stevens manages to smuggle in some of the best English speaking performers from abroad for our much needed entertainment. Expect to wake up Monday morning sore-sided and genuinely beweilderd that you had such a fun night out in Zurich. 10% discounts on groups of 10 or more, book ahead to get reserved seating and be prepared for the person next to you to initiate conversation - yikes!! http://www.funnylaundry.ch/

Re: Comedy!!!

He didnt manage to smuggle in the guy with the double-bass as it was cancelled, I seem to recall.

Standup comedy discussed in this thread. Seating is hardly worth the additional expense, let alone reserving for 10. Stand and heckle.

Re: Comedy!!!

Thanks Dave - duly chastised for being lighthearted. We were also victims of the canceled show, but managed to console ourselves with drinks and some stellar live music later on. I agree about reserved seating, but not the heckling, I got burned for that. Will try to select appropriate venues for my posts in future, just frantically trying to drum up some support for the poor bastards who actually come to Switzerland to try and make people laugh.

Re: It's Official. A Regular Comedy Night Is Coming To Zurich!

hmm, so I see. Luckily there are forum veterans around to reposition wayward posts from newbies. Give me a break guys, I just signed up today - hardly had a dial up connection back in the wilds of Alberta and am a little giddy with the broadband opportunities. Perhaps you can reccomend some reading for appropriate forum etiquette? Not trying to piss anyone off here.

cheers,
Sam

for the search - yes, it might have been hard to search for laundry

cross-posting - it's a cardinal sin. But don't worry.... you're stuck in Alberta

Re: It's Official. A Regular Comedy Night Is Coming To Zurich!

Actually I'm stuck in bloody Zurich pining for Alberta at the moment. Pine pine.

Right. On the blackboard now...

Will search topic keywords before posting new thread.

No more cross posting, will save my sins for more rewarding stunts.

Re: Comedy!!!

Just to temper my last post somewhat, the last time I went, and saw Lucy Porter, it was most enjoyable night. She popped up on "Have I Got News for You" the following week and I remembered being insulted by someone that looked just like her. But then there have been so many...

You've also got Man-on-mission Dom-u-dic doing a sterling job of promoting it on "the other" group...

Re: It's Official. A Regular Comedy Night Is Coming To Zurich!

I went to the inaugral Basel evening with a couple of mates and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

As an ardent Tellytubbie fan I'll be booking tickets for next month
